Who you get

The team.

Organizers first. We've knocked the doors, run the seats and built the tools.

Our Philosophy

Treat every day like election day. Campaigns are won on organization, on knowing where you stand before the other side does, and on execution when it counts. We pair the newest technology with the oldest practices that still win: the doors, the phones and the ground game.

Ryan Hurley

Ryan started as a canvasser and worked his way up to managing some of the most competitive races in the country.

Ryan spent a decade on Parliament Hill, where he worked on the Canadian Dental Care Plan and the Pharmacare Act. He helped build the case for both, then helped shape and pass the legislation.

Most recently, he was a senior advisor to a Minister in the B.C. government, where he managed crises on some of the most sensitive government files.

On campaigns he goes looking for the hard races. In 2025 he managed the successful Vancouver Kingsway re-election, holding the seat against a national collapse. In 2024 he organized Vancouver and the North Shore for the BC NDP, where every target seat was held or won. In 2023 he flipped Kildonan-River East in Manitoba, a PC seat since 1986. In 2018 he managed the win in Scarborough Southwest, the only NDP seat in Scarborough. Much of his work has been in diverse suburban communities, from Scarborough to Vancouver Kingsway. Outside Canada he has worked for Bernie Sanders, the UK Labour Party and congressional campaigns.

At Common Ground he leads Strategy, Intelligence and Software, and he designs and builds the firm's platforms.

Ryan believes campaigns must adapt to new technology while keeping the practices that have always won them: organizing on the ground and connecting with people where they are.

Kashfe

Products Director

Kashfe designs the work people stop to look at. She makes everything voters see, from the social feed to the bus shelter to the piece on the doorstep, and has led creative and communications strategy for campaigns and nonprofits across Canada and abroad.

She also reaches the voters other campaigns miss, with multilingual ethnic media campaigns in Punjabi, Tagalog, Tamil, Chinese, Korean and more, shaped to the communities a campaign has to win.

She has won municipal, provincial and federal races from B.C. to Ontario. In 2026 she led creative and communications for the Burnaby Citizens Association, which elected 7 councillors and 7 school trustees and kept its majority. The year before, she ran digital, creative and communications for a federal re-election in Vancouver that was one of the closest in the country.

She started out as a grassroots organizer. For six years she ran outreach, communications and advocacy in a constituency office in Toronto, helping hold one of Ontario's most contested seats through three re-elections.

At Common Ground she leads creative direction, design strategy, products and communications, and runs our design and digital teams.

Her rule: tell real stories in clear, simple messages that move people to act.
